Welcome to Russet Class!

We are a mixed year 4 and 5 class of 26 inquisitive, excitable and even occasionally mischievous pupils! Our adult team is
Mr Balsom (class teacher) and Mrs Smith.

Building confidence & resilience

In Russet class, we place a high value on helping children to develop a sense of belonging and understanding of taking ownership of their successes and failures. It’s important that children are encouraged to build their confidence, resilience and a love of learning so they can go through school with a deep knowledge that they are worthy and capable of life’s challenges.

Developing skills

Each day, children study reading, mathematics and literacy. Across the week, foundation subjects such as art, music, citizenship, computing, design and technology, languages, geography, history and P.E. are studied.

Homework

Homework is sent out at the start of each week and collected in on Friday. In Russet class, we know that regular reading is very important so please ensure that you listen to your child read and sign their reading record at least three times a week.

If you have any questions, please do catch us on the gate at the start and end of the day and we will do our best to answer them.

We look forward to seeing you!
